Netisu Development Recap - August 2025

Hey everyone, here's a recap of what we've been up to during August. This was a busy month filled with some big under-the-hood changes and a ton of visual improvements.

The Game Binary Is Now Open-Source!

This is a huge announcement. We have officially open-sourced the Netisu Game Binary—which includes both the Workshop and the Client. While the project has always been open-source, the game binary was previously closed, so we are excited to have it back out in the wild.

By doing this, we're inviting the community to help us build the next version of Netisu. We've decided to postpone further development on the client until we can get some C# developers to join the team and help us build it out.

UI & Design Overhauls

A lot of our focus this month was on sprucing things up and making the experience smoother.

  • We're working on a new chat look! It'll make conversations cleaner and easier to follow.
  • Your user page got a major update with new badges and a new tab that lets you see who's currently online.
  • The forum page has been completely redesigned, and we've added a much-needed search bar to help you find what you're looking for.
  • The purple theme got a fresh new design as well.
  • We've also rolled out a better promo code page and brought back the sidebar.

Bug Fixes & System Improvements

  • Legacy items have been restored! You can once again access all your items from before the database reset.
  • Item thumbnails in the marketplace are now displaying correctly again.
  • The client leaderboard has been updated, and we've also centralized networking to make embedded playtesting work more smoothly.
