Netisu Development Recap - September 2025
Hey everyone, September was a busy month with a mix of long-requested features, under-the-hood improvements, and some exciting forward-looking work. Here’s a breakdown of what landed this month.
Item Styles Are Here
Item styles officially launched this month, giving items a new layer of customization.
The first style release was for the Milk Ball, introducing the “Boing!” style. This style was granted for free to all existing Milk Ball owners.
Additionally, users who owned the Familiar Hair prior to the update received the “Black n’ Gold” style at no cost.
There are still a few kinks to work out as we expand the system, but this marks the foundation for much more expressive items going forward.

Marketplace Improvements & Item Sorting
The marketplace received several quality-of-life upgrades:
- You can now search for and sort items by multiple categories.
- Purchasing an item with styles now grants all currently on-sale and approved styles by default (this behavior may be adjusted in the future).
- Item browsing is faster and more consistent across the site.
These changes are aimed at making discovery easier while keeping item ownership intuitive.
Major Backend Rewrites
Several core systems were fully rewritten to improve performance and scalability:
- Chatting backend
- Marketplace backend
- Money / economy backend
These changes make everyday actions faster and more reliable while laying the groundwork for future features.
Online status handling was also improved, which directly benefits user profile pages and presence accuracy across the platform.
Profile & Dashboard Visual Updates
Both the user profile page and dashboard received visual updates to improve clarity and consistency.
These changes focus on better layout flow, clearer information hierarchy, and a more polished overall feel.

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
2FA is now available on Netisu.
This adds an extra layer of account security and is highly recommended for all users.

No More BBCode
As of this month, BBCode is no longer supported on-site.
While this may be disappointing to some, maintaining BBCode added unnecessary complexity and long-term maintenance costs. Removing it allows the platform to move faster and stay cleaner under the hood.
Bug Fixes & Stability
- The long-standing “no tool arm” bug has finally been fixed.
- General stability improvements across systems.
Looking Ahead: A New Game Client
Development has begun on a new Netisu game client built in Unreal Engine.
This is still early work, but it’s a major step toward the future of the platform.
